Lulu is a beautiful, energetic dog who prefers people to other animals. She is incredibly athletic and nimble. A fast-learner, Lulu is motivated to do whatever she is instructed. She is not food-focused or motivated and is just now discovering the concept of treats. She takes them so politely, softly, and respectfully. She hasn’t gotten the hang of sleeping on a doggy bed yet so stays splayed out on a deep pile rug or the tile floor when it’s a warmer day. Lulu went to stay with a foster during the heat wave as she was not doing well in the outdoor kennels. She quickly formed a bond with her foster dad and is now his shadow. Although she wants to be with him every moment, she is entirely trustworthy outside a kennel and hasn’t torn up a single thing. She sleeps beside the bed and every day puts a paw or two up to see if she will be allowed on the bed, which she isn’t. Her forever home may want her to sleep on the bed, which would please her. She does not shed as much as many GSDs and has slick shiny hair that is easy to clean up.
She is acutely interested in everything her humans are doing. Along with her natural athleticism, she would be an ideal Frisbee catcher, high jumper, long jumper, obstacle course champion or hiker in cooler weather. She has quick bursts of energy when she has been inside most of the day and needs regular exercise to be at her best. Keep in mind she will do whatever she thinks you’ve asked her to- so her safety is in your hands- throw her toy over the fence and she will jump right over it to do what she is supposed to do! Lulu has a great attitude and a light-hearted silliness that contrasts with the very serious look she often has on her face. She studies situations and can work out problems; she would absolutely blossom in an environment where she can explore her own abilities and flex her legs as well as her brain!
