Alaska was first described to us as a sweet, mellow boy. Sweet, yes. Mellow? Well, let’s just say he’s not a couch potato. He needs his exercise. He can run and play like a puppy, even though he’s around 3 years old. He loves other dogs, and at the first meeting, will bow to initiate play. He doesn’t like the littles charging at him, though, and will let them know. He loves to chase his ball and pounces on it like a kitten when he catches it. He has not quite mastered the return, so he turns the chase the ball into the chase the Alaska game. He does have a hearing impairment, so a family that can work with him on training with hand signs is just what he needs.
Stay tuned for more information as we learn more about him and his energy continues to return. More photos to come.
If you are interested in meeting Alaska, please fill out our online application first. Contact us via email at email@example.com. The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
