Charlie

Does anyone know an outfielder by the name of Charlie?  If there is someone by that name, he's been reincarnated in this handsome German Shepherd Dog!  Why do we say that?  Because he LOVES playing fetch with tennis balls and could do it all day if you could keep up with him.  Flyball?  He'll launch himself in the air to catch it!  Inside the house, his mom lets him play with "woobies" and he'll retrieve it over and over again.  Charlie knows lots of commands:  "out of the kitchen", "feet are in the kitchen", "find your woobie", "find your ball", "enough", "shake hands", "now the other one".  We could go on forever!  Housebroken, he'll use a designated area in the yard once you point it out to him.  Charlie will let you know when he needs something like food, a potty break, attention.  He'll just poke you in the arm with his nose or perhaps push you in the arm with his nose when he gets emphatic.  Charlie prefers not to be in a crate (crates remind him of his life long ago and those memories aren't happy memories).  He's such a good dog that he doesn't need a crate.  Instead he'll loll on the couch during the day and mostly on the floor by the front door when you are out and about.  Charlie loves people.  He's very curious about everything and has to check everything out that comes home.  People, their clothing, groceries, shopping bags, and so on.  He'll even hang out in front of the dryer to check on his tennis balls or other toys that have been washed.  Charlie has had obedience training and did well in both the beginning and intermediate classes.  He'll stay in the same room or within eyesight of his human because he wants to be with his people.  About the only time he forgets is when he sun bathes.  Yes, that's a very relaxing thing to do!  Finally, Charlie is huggable, lovable, a good listener, and, of course, is very intelligent.  Are you ready to take Charlie home?  He's waiting for you.
